Clinician Mentorships

Why I Mentor

  • To support and encourage clinicians interested in working with food/body mental health with their clients.

  • To share what I’ve learned from my training and experience.

  • To demonstrate how one can gain confidence addressing this personal issue through traditional training and exploring personal relationships with food/body.

  • To bring awareness of negative mental health consequences inherent in Disordered Eating and Eating Disorders to clients, colleagues, and communities.

Examining how we feed ourselves and care for our bodies is personal.
How we feed and care for our bodies says something about our mental health.

How I Mentor

  • Establish a co-created agreement and plan tailored to individual learning goals and meeting availability. The agreement clarifies the informal nature of mentorship and provides a structure for the mentee and mentor to grow, develop, and learn. It recognizes that goals are progressive and fluid.

  • Meet virtually at the agreed-upon frequency. Usually, this is once every four to six weeks.

  • I’m honest about what I don’t know and will do my best to get more information or suggest research ideas. When it serves the learning process, I’m transparent about healing my relationship with food and my body.

Join me to reclaim and rewire how
we understand food and our bodies.
